Replacement glass for Decora and Newmar windows
Decora and Newmar vinyl windows are in a lot of Burlington, Oakville and Milton homes. Many were put in by the builder. After some years, the seals on the glass can fail and the windows fog up.
You'll find them in many homes in neighbourhoods like Alton Village in Burlington and Upper Glen Abbey in Oakville. The frames are often still fine. So we replace the glass, not the whole window. That's how you save.
We work on other builder-grade and retrofit vinyl windows too. If you're not sure, text us a photo.

Better glass than you started with
Every replacement sealed unit we install is made with LoE-366 glass. It's far better than the builder-grade glass that came with most Decora and Newmar windows.
So you're not just fixing the fog. You're upgrading the glass.

- Far better than builder-gradeA real step up from the original glass in your window.
Signs of a failed window seal
- Fog, haze or water droplets between the panes
- Fog that comes and goes with the weather or the sun
- White streaks, spots or a cloudy film you can't wipe off
- A crack in one of the panes
- Glass that looks dirty right after you clean it
If you can wipe the fog off, it's normal condensation on the surface. If you can't, the seal has likely failed. More on fixing foggy and broken window glass.

Replace the glass or the whole window
Most foggy windows just need new glass. Here's how to tell.
| Replace the glass only | Replace the whole window | |
|---|---|---|
| Best when | The frame and sash are in good shape. Only the glass is foggy or cracked. | The frame is cracked, warped or damaged, or the window doesn't open, close or lock properly. |
| What changes | New sealed glass unit. Your frame, trim and inside finish stay. | A new vinyl window, frame and all. |
| The glass | New LoE-366 sealed unit. Far better than your original builder-grade glass, and it blocks 95% of UV rays. | Comes with the glass in your new window. |
| Cost | Usually less, since you keep the frame. | More, but it fixes frame problems too. |
Not sure? Send us a photo. If new glass will do the job, we'll tell you. If the frame is done, we can quote a full window replacement instead.

Decora and Newmar window glass questions
Can you replace the glass in my Decora window?
Yes. Replacing foggy or cracked sealed glass units in Decora vinyl windows is one of our main jobs. In most cases we replace just the glass and keep your existing frame and sash. Text a photo to 905-638-0117 for a free quote.
How much does it cost to replace the glass in a Decora or Newmar window?
Pricing depends on the size of the glass. Most sealed glass units cost between $110 and $400 each, and a typical window unit is around $215. Interior grilles between the glass are $8 per grille square (each opening in the grid). Text a photo and rough measurements to 905-638-0117 for a free quote.
Do you replace fogged sealed units in Newmar windows?
Yes. We replace fogged and cracked sealed units in Newmar vinyl windows. If the frame is in good shape, you only need new glass, not a new window.
Who replaces Decora window glass in Burlington and Oakville?
Glass by Derrick, a local owner-run business based in Burlington, replaces Decora and Newmar window glass in homes across Burlington and Oakville, including Alton Village, Upper Glen Abbey, Lakeshore Woods and Joshua Creek.
How do I know if I have Decora or Newmar windows?
Look between the panes of glass at the metal spacer bar for a printed brand name, or check the corner of the glass for a small laser etch. If you still can't tell, text a photo to 905-638-0117.
What glass do you use?
Every replacement sealed unit we install is made with LoE-366 glass. It's far better than the builder-grade glass your window came with, and it blocks 95% of UV rays. That helps protect your floors and furniture from fading.
If one window is foggy, do I have to replace all of them?
No. We replace only the sealed units that have failed. Many homeowners start with the worst one or two windows and do others later.
Do you work on other vinyl windows?
Yes. We focus on Decora and Newmar windows, but we replace the glass in other builder-grade and retrofit vinyl windows too. Send us a photo and we'll let you know.
Why is my window foggy between the panes?
Your window glass is a sealed unit: two or more panes with a sealed space between them. When the seal fails, moist air gets inside and condenses on the inner glass. That's why you can't wipe it away from either side.
Can I clean the fog out myself?
No. The moisture is trapped inside the sealed unit, so cleaning the inside or outside of the glass won't help. The fix is a new sealed glass unit.
Is replacing just the glass cheaper than a new window?
Usually, yes. You keep your frame, so you only pay for the new sealed glass unit and the install, not a whole new window. We'll quote it for free so you can compare.
Do you replace cracked window glass too?
Yes. We replace cracked sealed glass units in residential vinyl windows, as well as foggy ones.
What do I need to send for a quote?
A photo of the whole window, a close-up of the foggy or cracked glass, and your town. If you can see a brand name on the spacer bar or a laser etch in the corner of the glass, send a photo of that too. We'll measure before anything is ordered.
What areas do you serve?
